Introducing the Kia Syros: Redefining the Sub-4 Metre SUV Segment

 


Kia India has officially launched the Kia Syros, a sub-4 metre compact SUV, on February 1, 2025. This vehicle combines innovation, style, and comfort, targeting the modern, tech-savvy driver.


Design and Exterior Features

The Kia Syros boasts a bold and futuristic design, featuring Kia's signature starmap LED headlamps and DRLs, complemented by L-shaped LED taillamps. Built on the reinforced K1 platform, it presents a robust yet stylish appearance. The 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels and flush door handles enhance its premium look.


Interior Comfort and Technology

Inside, the Syros offers a spacious and luxurious cabin. The 30-inch trinity panoramic display panel seamlessly integrates the instrument cluster, climate display, and infotainment system for an intuitive user experience. Ventilated front seats and 60:40 split, sliding, and reclining rear seats ensure maximum comfort for all passengers.


Advanced Features and Connectivity

The Syros is equipped with advanced features, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a connected car navigation cockpit, 64-color ambient mood lighting, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. It also supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates and offers 16 autonomous safety features, such as forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, and smart cruise control with stop and go.


Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the Syros provides two engine options:

1.0-litre Turbo Petrol Engine: Delivers 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT.

1.5-litre Diesel Engine: Produces 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.


Safety and Security

Safety is a priority in the Syros, which comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, and vehicle stability management. Additional features include a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, tyre pressure monitoring system, and hill-hold assist. Kia Connect 2.0 offers SOS emergency support, real-time diagnostics, and stolen vehicle tracking.


Pricing and Variants

The Kia Syros is available in six variants: HTK, HTK(O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+(O). The petrol variants are priced between ₹9 lakh and ₹16.80 lakh, while the diesel variants range from ₹11 lakh to ₹17.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The base model, HTK, is available only with a petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission, priced at ₹9 lakh. The HTK(O) variant offers both petrol and diesel options, with the petrol manual priced at ₹10 lakh and the diesel manual at ₹11 lakh. The HTK+ variant provides a petrol manual at ₹11.50 lakh, a petrol automatic at ₹12.80 lakh, and a diesel manual at ₹12.50 lakh. The HTX variant comes with a petrol manual at ₹13.30 lakh, a petrol automatic at ₹14.60 lakh, and a diesel manual at ₹14.30 lakh. The HTX+ variant is available with a petrol automatic at ₹16 lakh and a diesel automatic at ₹17 lakh. For those seeking advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the HTX+(O) variant offers these features, with the petrol automatic priced at ₹16.80 lakh and the diesel automatic at ₹17.80 lakh. The ADAS package adds an additional ₹80,000 to the price of the HTX+ variant. 


Booking and Availability

Bookings for the Kia Syros commenced on January 3, 2025, with a reservation amount of ₹25,000. Deliveries are set to begin shortly after the launch.
